Aprilia, the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, recently launched the BS6 Storm 125 disc brake variant scooter in India. The scooter was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo and was scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2020, but Covid-19 pandemic delayed its course of action. Pre-bookings have begun and the deliveries are expected to begin soon.
The new Aprilia Storm 125 disc brake is the brand’s most affordable offering in India with a launch price of Rs 91,321 (ex-showroom), making it about Rs 5,000 more expensive than the regular Storm 125 scooter.
Design-wise, everything remains unchanged when compared to the regular variant. Aprilia equips their new offering with a 200mm front disc brake with a two-piston calliper, while at the rear, the same 150mm drum brake does the job. ABS or Anti-Lock Braking System is missing from it, Aprilia adds Combined Braking System or CBS to it.
Coming to its competitors, the Aprilia Storm 125 will be competing against some fierce competitors in its segment. Hero Maestro Edge 125 (Rs 71450), Honda Grazia (Rs 80978) and the TVS Ntorq 125 (Rs 69975) are a few to name. Other notable mentions include Suzuki Burgman Street (Rs 79700), Vespa Urban Club (Rs 93,144) & Yamaha Ray ZR 125 (Rs 70530).
